Three Gorges University (CTGU) has been supported by the Ministry
of Education, State Planning Committee, Ministry of Finance, Ministry
of Power and the Construction Committee of Three Gorges Project
ever since its foundation. CTGU has been appointed one of the
five key universities of the Tenth-five-year Plan of Hubei Province,
and the People¡¯s Municipal Government of Yichang City has set
up a special group to support CTGU¡¯s construction and development,
and made out 8 suggestions for support. The leaders of the Ministry
of Education, the Party Committee of Hubei Province, the Provincial
People¡¯s Congress (Hubei), the Political Consultative Committee
of Hubei Province, the Educational Department of Hubei Province,
the Three Gorges Development Corporation, and the People¡¯s Municipal
Government of Yichang City have been to our university many times
to survey, inspect, and communicate with the teachers and students
and hear their suggestions and help to solve many problems, such
as expanding campus, the migration of the farmers and the campus
construction, which makes CTGU develop more rapidly and smoothly.

Mr. Liu Defu, the President of CTGU, when he inspected Yichang
