China Three Gorges University has already established cooperative relationships with more than 20 universities in countries such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Britain and so on. The cooperation extends to teaching, scientific research and student exchanges. At present, cooperation has made great progress, including ¡° Dynamic Detector¡± jointly-developed with the University of Blaise Pascal, France, ¡°Hydraulic Development Research¡± collaborated with Berlin University of Applied Science, ¡°Rock-Water Heat Coupling Research¡± with the University of Lille, France, ¡°Reservoir Optimized Management Research¡± with the University of Twente, Netherlands; and ¡°2+2 Undergraduate Program¡± with South Bank University, Britain, where students study the first 2 years on our campus and the other 2 years in Britain.
In 2002, China Three Gorges University successfully held the Fifth N.E.W.S International Conference, which made further progress in opening up international markets and strengthening international cooperation and exchanges.

   
In September 2002, CTGU held the Fifth N.E.W.S. International Conference successfully.  
 
The 7 members of N.E.W.S. signed the Yichang Charter at the conference.
