In China Three Gorges University (CTGU), there are 1,337 full-time teachers, including more than 500 prfessors and associate professors, more than 400 teachers who have got Doctoral Degree or Master Degree, and over 30 teachers who are young scientific and technical experts with great contributions enjoying government allowance of the State Council. There are also 1 Chutian Scholar and 3 Sanxia Scholars, 24 teachers as provincial cross-century discipline forerunner and academic backbone and 94 teachers as university discipline forerunner and academic backbone. There are also 110 supervisors for postgraduate students and PhD students, 180 part-time professors, including 10 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Introduction of Chutian Scholars:
Doctor Zheng Hong is a distinguished visiting professor from abroad , and he is also one of the first group of specific professors of ¡°Chutian Scholar Project¡± in Hubei Province. Doctor Zheng Hong is a research fellow of Wuhan Geo-technical Dynamic Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He does most of his research on Hydraulic Structural Engineering, Geo-technical Dynamic, Hazard Prevention & Reduction Engineering. He is also an expert enjoys the special allowance of the State Council.
Doctor Zheng¡¯s main research achievements are as the following: 9 pieces of theses have been published, out of which 4 pieces have been published in foreign academical publications, 5 pieces in domestic academical publications, 3 have been indexed by SCI and 9 by EI. He has finished 9 scientific research items, and won a second prize of provincial Science&Technology Progress Reward for 1 item and a third prize for another, and he has obtained scientific research outlay 2,030,000 RMB. Presently, the provincial-level key lab, Hazard Prevention & Reduction Laboratory, which is organized by him, is under active constuction. He now is engaging in the research on ¡°the Inspection and Forecast of the Geology Hazard Along the Three Gorges of the Changjiang River¡±.
Introduction of Sanxia Scholars:
Doctor Li Jianlin, vice president of CTGU, professor, supervisor of PhD students.
His main research achievements: 36 pieces of theses have been published, out of which 1 have been published in foreign academic publication, 35 in domestic publications ( 10 in key publications), 2 have been indexed by EI; he has published 5 academic compositions and obtained scientific research outlay 11,000,000 RMB and finished 14 scientific research items, and he has won a second prize of provincial Science & Technology Progress Reward for 1 item and university-level Science & Technology (S&T) Progress Reward for 8 items. Now he is researching the characteristic of unload rock mechanics of brim-slope and its base, and analyzing the stability of rock, and the theory and method of how to pin up the unloaded rock.

Cai Desuo, post PhD, a distinguished visiting professor of CTGU for the Sanxia Scholars¡¯ Project, a supervisor for PhD students in Wuhan University. He is known as one of youth experts with great contributions in Hubei Province, a cross-century academic forerunner of the State Power Company, one of the principals of provincial key item ¡°Hydraulic Structural Engineering¡± and ministerial key lab, Geo-technical Engineering Research Center (Laboratory). Now he devotes most of his energy in researching, teaching and managing on Hydraulic & Hydroelectric Engineering and Geo-technical Engineering, while he emphasizes much on the research on fiber sensors technology of the hydroelectric engineering inspection. In this field, he has been in charge of over 10 scientific researching items in recent years, such as the State Natural Science Funding Program, the State Ninth-five-year Scientific Research Program, the China Post-doctoral Science Funding Program, the Key S&T Program of State Power Company, the Key S&T Research Program of Ministry of Education, and State ¡°948¡± Program. And he has obtained more than 4,000,000 RMB researching outlay, won a second prize of Hubei Provincial S&T Progress Reward, 2 prizes of Excellent Theses on Natural Science. He has had 52 theses published, among which 7 have been indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP, 4 academic books and 1 textbooks for postgraduate published. He has enrolled alone or with other professors 7 postgraduate students and 4 PhD students.
Wang Xianjia, Doctoral Degree, Sanxia Scholar of CTGU, Professor and tutor of PhD students of Wuhan University. Currently, he is the director of System Engineering Institute of Wuhan University, the expert enjoying Special Allowence by State Council, he mainly does research in the theories and its application to the management of water resource and electrical system. He has won a second prize and 2 third prizes of Hubei Provincial S&T Progress Reward, 1 first prize 3 second prizes of Municipal Government S&T Progress Reward, 3 prizes of University S&T Progress Reward. He has had 3 theses published on foreign academic publications, 35 published on domestic academic publications, 1 indexed by SCI and 15 indexed by EI, and 1 academic book published.
Doctor Wang is now a distinguished visiting professor of the College of Economics & Management of China Three Gorges University. He is working out the developing plan for management science and engineering subjects, and doing research in the theories and its applicability in order to make a better base for a doctors¡¯ program on management science and engineering.
