Accordingly to the principles of campus construction layout, while running the education programme in the available facilities, the university has expedited the construction of additional buildings and facilities. The newly-built library, the Information and Technology Centre, the administration building, the structure hall and the students’ apartment in Nanyuan and some other buildings have covered 80 000 m2. The students’ apartments and dining hall have covered 70 000 m2 and the sport area under construction has covered additional 50 000 m2. At the end of 2002 and the beginning of 2003, Yifu Building, Life Science Building and the apartments of the second period began to be built. The university is trying to complete Yifu Building, Life Science Building, the sport field, the apartments of the second year students and the dining hall and so on in 2003. Besides, the university will realize the objective of centralizing administration and school-running.
         In 2003 the university will start the construction of general training gym, the art building, the Hydroelectric Museum, the College of Science and Technology and the students’ apartments of the third period. In future, the campus area will be 200 hectares.
